Heirloom Peppers


The 2004 shipping season for Heirloom tomatoes will be approximately April 5th to June 23rd depending on weather conditions and where you live. Thanks to all who sent such glorious comments about my 2003 products. It is from those comments that I reap my rewards.

Peppers are highly valued nutritionally. The more brillant the color the higher they are in beta-carotene. They are a good source of vitamin C and are rich in fiber.

#200-Beaver Dam-80 days.
This heirloom pepper originates from Hungary. It is named after the town of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin where it has been grown since 1929. The fruit of this plant is crunchy in texture and tastes mildly hot. It ripens from lime green to red and is great when paired with tomatillos in salsa.

#201 Black Hungarian-70-80 days.
Similar shape to Jalapenos, but fruits are black ripening to red. Green foliage is tipped with purple and has purple flowers. Fruits 3"-4". This is a striking heirloom pepper.

.#202 Bulgarian Carrot Pepper-65-68 days.
This heirloom was smuggled out through the iron curtain more than 20 years ago as the story goes. It ripens from green to deep yellow-orange. Intense fruity and pungent flavor. It adds color and flavor to glazes, marinades, salsa, and chutneys. Plants grow to 18".
#203 Buran Pepper- 90 days.
This heirloom is from Poland and is very sweet. Equally sweet when green or red. Plants are 18-24" tall. Fruits are 4"x3". This brightly colored heirloom pepper is rich in beta carotene. Sold Out
#204 Lemon Drop-100 days.
This heirloom is from Peru. It is a great seasoning pepper and has an intensely hot, citrus flavor. Plants are 2'x2'. Fruits are 2 1/2" long and 1/2" wide.
#205 Nosegay-70-80 days.
The fruits of this ornamental pepper can be eaten but are hot. The leaves of this plant look like bay leaves. This plant grows to only 6"tall making it a great border plant in the landscape or in containers. Fruits display a wide variety of colors while ripening.
#206 Orange Bell-60-90 days.
This is a high yielding pepper with a sweet taste. The fruit is thick fleshed. It takes 60 days to produce a green pepper and 90 for the orange.
#207 Quadrato Asti Giallo-80 days.
Bell pepper type ripening from green to yellow. Deliciously sweet crisp flesh when either green or yellow.
#208 Sheepnose Pimento-70-80 days.
Very meaty. Pimento shaped sweet fruits are good for canning. This heirloom pepper is delightfully sweet.
